Changes to Storytime Registration

Storytime families,

We are so thrilled with the interest you all have shown in our programs in the Childrens’ Room and we are delighted to welcome your families each time you visit our library. Attendance in all our programs has skyrocketed and we are going to have to implement a few changes in order to maintain a safe space for everyone. If you are registered for any of our programs in March, please make sure to read this entire message as we are implementing changes to registrations.

Sensory Playtime with Miss Dominique will be expanded to an hour and a half, from 10:30 to noon. Please register so we have enough supplies and can contact you in the event of any changes, but you can drop in any time during that window. This change takes effect immediately (March 14) but you don’t have to do anything right now.
We would like to offer a second session of Bambinos with Miss Megan each week. If you plan to continue attending Bambinos, please fill out this one question survey regarding times. There will also be a change in the way registration works once we add the second session. Each session will be limited to 32 people total, adults and children included. You will also need to register EACH WEEK for Bambinos, instead of a blanket monthly registration like we have been doing. Each week on Tuesdays, we will open registration for the following Tuesday, and if you wish to attend, you will have to register each time. If you do not register and the program fills up, you will not be able to attend that week. We will begin offering two sessions on March 29 and will notify you of the times the week before.

Registrations for Preschool Storytime with Miss Lizzie will be limited to 32 people total, adults and children included. You will also need to register EACH WEEK for Preschool Storytime, instead of a blanket monthly registration like we have been doing. Each week on Thursdays, we will open registration for the following Thursday, and if you wish to attend, you will have to register each time. If you do not register and the program fills up, you will not be able to attend that week. These registration changes will take effect immediately (March 17). You will need to re-register for the March 17 program if you want to attend. Registration is open now.

We really hate turning people away, but at this point it’s a safety issue, and we want to make sure that each child is getting as much from this program as possible.

We also want to remind you of the following guidelines for behavior throughout the Children’s Room and all our programs:

  • Gentle hands
  • Walking feet
  • Quiet voice
  • Strollers should be parked outside the craft room by the soft chairs/near the restroom
  • The child you bring should be within arm’s reach at all times
  • Socializing by caregivers should be limited to the hour of playtime after the program
