September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month!

If you’re a Dracut resident and you or your child (aged 5 or older) don’t have a card yet, now’s the perfect time to get one! Find out how on our Get a Library Card page. Already have a Library Card? Now’s the perfect time to get your friends and neighbors signed up, too!

When you’re done recruiting people to become Library Cardholders, sign up for a special Drop-In: Library Card Lanyards craft in the Children’s Room on September 12th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. so you never lose your card.

Whether you have a card already or not, hop on over to Beanstack to participate in our Library Card Sign-Up Month 2022 Reading Challenge. Use your library card to check out books and more from the library for a chance to win a special Library Card Sign-Up Month prize!

Plus, the American Library Association is running a nation-wide social media raffle! To enter, share a photo of yourself with your library card to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #GetLibraryCarded, or post it to the I Love Libraries Facebook page. The creator of one randomly-selected post will receive a $100 Visa gift and a poster of choice from ALA Graphics. Three second-place winners will receive their poster of choice from ALA Graphics. The #GetLibraryCarded promotion begins Thursday, September 1, at noon CT and ends Friday, September 23, at noon CT. All library lovers and librarians are encouraged to participate. The promotion is open to residents of the United States, Washington, D.C., and U.S. Territories.
