  • NoveList Plus
    NoveList Plus is a comprehensive readers’ advisory resource. In addition to the fiction database that NoveList has offered, NoveList Plus adds nonfiction. With NoveList Plus, you can find titles, articles, and lists for both your fiction and nonfiction needs.

Awards

  • Alex Awards
    The Alex Awards are given to ten books written for adults that have special appeal to young adults, ages 12 through 18.
  • Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction 
    The Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction and the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Nonfiction were established in 2012 to recognize the best fiction and nonfiction books for adult readers published in the U.S. the previous year.
  • Mass Book Awards
    The Massachusetts Book Awards recognize significant works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, translated literature, and children’s/young adult literature written, illustrated, or translated by current Commonwealth residents.
  • Notable Books for Adults 
    Since 1944, the goal of the Notable Books Council has been to make available to the nation’s readers a list of 25 very good, very readable, and at times very important fiction, nonfiction, and poetry books for the adult reader.
  • Over the Rainbow Project 
    To recognize current quality non-fiction and fiction books that authentically express gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender experiences.
  • The Reading List 
    The Reading List seeks to highlight outstanding genre fiction that merit special attention by general adult readers and the librarians who work with them.
  • Sophie Brody Award
    This award is given to encourage, recognize and commend outstanding achievement in Jewish literature.
  • Stonewall Book Awards 
    The Stonewall Book Award-Barbara Gittings Literature Award and the Stonewall Book Award-Israel Fishman Non-Fiction Award are presented to English language books that have exceptional merit relating to the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender experience.
